August 2012 Template FREEBIE + Challenge

Do you ever find yourself stumped with what to do for your page? Don’t worry, sometimes I am too!
I find browsing galleries or different websites sure fire ways to inspire ideas and creativity!

Just like this month’s template inspiration. I was looking through layouts over at Easy Scrapbook Pages, and stopped when I saw this amazing paper scrapped layout by Ashley Horton. The unique placement of paper strips, embellishments, tapes, circles and multiple photos made a winning and amazing design!

I knew I had to try lifting the design of this page and digi-fy it. (is that even a word?) LOL! I REALLY wanted to share this design concept with all of my digi friends, so I emailed Ashley to see if she would allow me to create a digital template of her amazing design and she happily agreed.       I good! I’m so glad. Sometimes I think I’m all by myself on having larger multiple photos… but I just LOVE the photos when I look through my books. ENJOY!!

    The templates are beautiful…sure wish they were in page or SBC format for those of us who use that software! I have not figured out how to use the png files yet! :(

      Hi Tammie, I’m not sure exactly what page or SBC format is? I try to include as many options as I can. There are PSD, TIFF, and pngs. But if you are unable to use those options, perhaps you can use this layout as a sketch and work off of it as inspiration? You can still enter the challenge like that as well if you’d like.         SBC is StoryBook Creator. It’s scrapbooking software from Creative Memories, and it uses the .PAGE files. I’m not sure how to save something in that format, but there are several designers who do, and when they include it with the other formats, it works great. I sure hope you can google up a tutorial for it or mooch some info from someone who knows–it is really nice when both formats are included!

          Thanks for the info Ronna!! I’m not sure that I can offer this in the future, because I do not have this software. I try my best to please all software users, and that is why I offer the png files. Sorry!! Question though… if you would use png files, do the need to be transparent on a 12 x 12 layer? Or are they better if they are a flatten 12 x 12 layer (with white behind)?

    How great that your templates use several background papers! It doesn’t take a lot of elements to make the LOs pretty but if you do use a lot it works just as well. Thank you so much Krista :)
